Virtual Dreamscapes

Drawn in by the window displays that fuse digital media, sculpture, and installation, patrons travel through a portal to the interior. The interior undulates in a glamorous pastel melange. Cocooned in futuristic beauty, individuals are enveloped in what seems a fantastical realm, one of connectivity and community. The interior, a continuum of colour and texture, offers a surreal backdrop to the medical based products. It references the style of 17th Century French Beauty Parlours which encouraged gatherings and philosophical conversation.

“Inspired by the idea of creating a virtual dreamscape, this experimental retail space precipitates new thought and imagination as individuals are enveloped into a fantastical realm.  The window displays are a radical, almost cinematic display fusing fine art, sculpture and product. The artwork is by the amazing French photographer Simon Chaput. Known for his impressive grand scale black and white waterfalls, and for his collaborative work with Christo and Jean Claude, Simon is no stranger to grand scale installation work. The images in the windows ‘Le Petit Saint’ are of two, rarely seen, beautifully designed rotundas that are located within the entrance hall of the old Paris Opera House.  The silver one is called ‘Salon de la Lune’ and the gold one is ‘Salon du Soleil’.” Blainey North
