To look to the future, it is sometimes necessary to explore the past. We researched the origins of spa culture in general, and Roman bathhouses in particular, where the planning is a series of axis adjoining circular areas as points of connection in order to create an interactive space.
The whole project was developed from a feeling: that of being under water and looking up. Where things glimmer and are indistinct. There is perimeter movement, unexpected beauty and an other-worldly sense of time and space. The idea of circular shapes, with their elementary geometry, formed the basis of linking spaces, of fluidity and of slowly encircling through the repetition of the motif.
